People often mistake baby pigeons for baby vultures. Here’s how to tell the difference:

Pigeons are the size of a softball, or smaller, and have sparse down that looks like it was burned.

Vultures have thick reddish or white down. Turkey vultures have a “peep sight” at the nares (nostrils).
